The Nyac-Ghyt, Dragons of Fire, also known as the Vhex-Ghyt, Serpents of Fire, are actually quite secretive1. The only things about them commonly known are their appearance, and their alliances. They are more serpent than dragon, having a serpent body and head, thin scaly arms,(with many claws) and, of course, wings. They commonly a peacing scarlet but some varieties are known to be partially or entirely charcoal black. They are allied with Demon-kind, and most that ride them are Demons. They breathe fire, and have no problems with diving into, and even swimming in, lava.
1 The scorched journal of the late Hugo Ernitz, a man dedicated to studying the Nyac-Ghyt, was found in a land once inhabited by the Nyac-Ghyt. Part of the journal that was readable included a note saying: Jumps to conclusions. It’s easy to see what conclusion they jumped to about poor Hugo.
